GUTTERS

Gutters are a very important part of your roofing structure because they protect your roof from rain and water damage that could result from water collecting on your roof.  When that happens, the shingles can weaken and the soffits and fascia can rot and deteriorate.

GUTTER TALK
Many homes in Southern California go without gutters for decades.  Maybe its because we have a lot less rain here than most states, however, don't forget when it does rain, it can be a downpour.  Though pooling water may not be a concern unless you have a flat or low sloped roof, gutters are still an important consideration for your home as with gutters you can direct water away from your doorways, overhangs, patios and porches. To save money, you can install a partial gutter system which is designed to manage the flow of water in specific areas around your home.

Even though we may not have a lot of rain in Southern California, you'd be surprised how much moisture can accumulate on the roof if you don't have gutters.  Southern California experiences morning fog and mist that accumulates on the roof, on porches, sidewalks a patios.  With or without rain, when there are no gutters, the water is not caught or directed and can wash away soil, damaging landscape. With no gutters, water runoff can flow toward your home instead of away from it ultimately causing the foundation to settle.  Properly applied gutters do more than just protect your roof from rain, they direct the accumulation of water that happens even in the hottest days of summer ultimately protecting your entire property.
